In modern world PCs leave their place for notebook computers. Certainly laptops have got serviceability disadvantages but opportunity to carry everything with ourselves doesnt reflect anyone. Its especially comfortable in large house with radionet, since you can sit near fireplace or in the yard if weather is nice. I do so myself therefore I know what Im speaking about. It is also comfortable for students, since advantage of easy transportation is one of the main for them, because they often change place of living.



In contrast to PC, laptop uses battery that can die with time. Lithium battery can die suddenly and its capacity decreases hundred times. I have such situation in my life, suddenly my laptops working duration became not more than one minute without any reasons. Besides if you need to work in the camp conditions then youd better have two batteries. The same situation with PSUs (Power Supply Unit). Again I will talk about my own example. I have two PSUs at home one near workplace and another near TV-set, moreover I have one at office and totally I have three but there is only one in the laptop set, so I had to buy two more.



Dock stations are specific case. They allow you to turn laptop into full PC in a moment. And again I will talk about my own example. Nowadays, price formation for such goods is quite barbarous. As we could see, Dell offers Dell Latitude Dock for the price of $149 and at the same time, if you comb auctions, then you can find it for the price of $90 + shipping (may be you wont find it at the moment of reading this article, but it was). But you should keep in mind that there is chance to get used or broken one. So, is there any reason to make such efforts if you can buy the same thing for the price of $109? That can be quite rational compromise between Dells demands and shady sources



If came into collision with printer cartridge then you should know situation with them. You know that there are always Chinese cartridges lying near original ones. The same situation occurred with laptop batteries. Battery has plastic frame that contain so-called cells looking like small batteries. So, if Dell products new laptop with new battery, it doesnt mean that it has completely new battery, differences only in frame and fastening, but it has similar cells inside. It has approximately 50 types of batteries and there are only 2-3 types of cells. Cells are advanced technology products and Chinese workers are not able to product them, so they buy it in Japan or South Korea. As a result, price of normal battery of good quality made in China is not much cheaper than origin, since cells have 90% of prime cost. Chinese workers try to produce own cells that are cheaper, but these cells used to explode, so its better not to take chances. For example, original battery costs $80, Chinese can cost $60 or even $50. Do you want to take the risk of your laptop with information for $30? Everything is almost same with PSUs.



Now you can see whole situation. Whats for I wrote this? The main reason is to make you thinking about the cost of information in your laptop and your nerves. Isnt it better to buy good batteries, PSUs and feel comfortable as I feel?
