Mentor Theory in Growing Personal Networks

Author: Lance Winslow

There are many theories in growing personal networks, apprentice-ship training and even in MLM Multi-Level Marketing using the power of Mentoring. Having mentors in life can help one climb very quickly in a particular endeavor in life. Some can make it to the top without mentors by listening to their inner self and trusting their intuition and this is a tribute to their personal will. However nearly anyone who sticks with a very good mentor, who really sticks with it and puts forth commitment and is dedicated to the cause can achieve a very high level of success in that particular skill or endeavor.

MLM Multi-Level Marketing uses this basic theory of mentoring to move there group forward. You will notice that religious organizations have similar support groups. Military training often uses such mentoring programs by promoting its best to training others, for instance the Top Gun Fighter Pilot School. Remember Daniel Son in the Karate Kid? Apprentice-Ships have been used throughout the ages to mentor the up and coming and produce masters of the trades.

In Multi-Level Marketing you will need to be sure to mentor the next up and coming recruits coming into the program and then they will Pay it back in the future to the others in the down line. The Mentor is "Paying Forward" like the movie. And the recruit later will have to be a good mentor or their newest members. If not they will fail thru too rapid declines and in the rates of attrition.

If you observe attrition rates in MLM companies and their down lines you will see that once you get over the attrition rate then the system grows itself. I am told that once you have 45-50 down line that the attrition rate of people quitting is over come by the rates of people signing up. Thus it builds from there on its own as long as you maintain it. Most MLM companies have inner support, which allows the system to maintain itself.

Why to do people quit MLM companies? Well from too much rejection, personal negative bio feed back (telling them selves that they cannot do this) and people never making enough to be satisfied or sustained is over come by the 45 people in play signing people up. Now if MLM was truly, as easy, as the theory states then by now everyone in the World would be doing it right? Degrees of separation theory or rather "NSA spider network program theory" would predict that all people would be involved in this. Well, the problem is within the society itself and this is why in MLM or any mentoring program you must choose carefully those you mentor and bring into your organization, that includes any club, group or program, not just MLM. So think on this in 2006.
